AtLA 3x05 "The Beach"

Avatar thoughts from this week:

• This was episode five, so we're a quarter through the season. =[ Only fifteen episodes left and then it's over. If life after HP is Avatar, then what is life after Avatar??
• "So Dad wants to meet with his advisors alone, without anyone else around." Redundancy FTL.
• Lo and Li freak me the heck out.
• Zuko barfing into his hand omg XD
• Aang you moron. So wait, does the fire nation not know he's still alive at least because the hawk was intercepted? One can only hope.
• I'm so over Mai and Zuko. *gag* Could there be a more awkward, boring couple?
• Omg, Azula trying to be normal is so awful that it's amazing. "Together... you and I will be the strongest couple in the WORLD! WE WILL DOMINATE THE EARTH!" XD
• I wonder if we'll ever see the actual scenes that all those flashback pictures are from. *crosses fingers*
• I'm patiently waiting for an explanation of Combustion Man's powers.
• Sokka should wear his hair down more often.
• OMG, the fight scene was incredible. I love the decision to cut the music and just have the sounds of the bending and explosions. And the animation was impeccable. I wish I could get the DVD so I could watch it frame-by-frame. This was definitely the best fight sequence yet in the show. Every time I watch the bit where Aang controls the explosion with air bending and then dives into the rock column I love it more.
• Aang has a lot of confidence and badassery in this ep. I like it a lot more than goofy, unsure Aang.
• "Well that was random." Yes, Toph, yes it was.
• the angst, the aaaaangst. the whole bonfire scene is so weirdddd. freudian much?
• "My father decided to teach me a permanent lesson... on my face!" It's not supposed to be funny but it isssss. XD
• "I'm angrier than ever and I don't know why!" XD "I'm feeling cranky and pubescent today and I don't know why." Potter Puppet Pals much?
• and then they randomly completely trash Chan's party? wha?
• that picture that closes the episode is just so ridiculous, lolz
